Ope Onibokun
Investment Director, Infrastructure & Climate at British International Investment (former CDC Group)
Ope Onibokun, joined CDC as Investment Director in Project Finance. Ope is based in the London office and focuses on our Project Finance activities in Africa and Pakistan, with emphasis on general infrastructure (non-energy), particularly ports and logistics opportunities in project finance.
Previously, Ope was Head of Project Finance at ARISE, an AP Moller Capital Investee Company which develops and operates ports and terminals with connected logistics in Africa. Prior to that, he worked at Investec Asset Management in Cape Town, South Africa as an Infrastructure and Credit Investment Specialist in their Africa Credit Opportunities (ACO) and Emerging Africa Infrastructure Fund (EAIF). There, he focused on closing project and corporate finance transactions across the continent mainly in the transport, ports and logistics and telecoms sectors with some power and renewables too. He also worked for Citigroup in New York, Hong Kong and Seoul covering project and infrastructure finance. Ope’s early career was as a software engineer working in the USA.
Ope holds a Bachelor of Science, Computer Engineering and Information Systems from University of Maryland and a Master of Science, Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University. He also holds an MBA from Duke University.
